If you have a normal monitor or flat screen monitor you may be able to get by for a few days before having the screen replaced.

Take your monitor and attach the VGA cable from the monitor to the VGA outlet on your laptop (most laptops have one).

Turn on the monitor and then turn on your laptop. Push the FN (Function) key on your laptop and the monitor switch key on your keyboard (Its usually an F key like F4 or F5 or F6. (Just look for an F key that has a picture of an LCD screen on it) . You must push the FN key and whatever F key you need simultaneously. In other words push them both at the same time at least once. Your screen should appear on your attached monitor and you can continue using your laptop as you normally would.
